Have you visited many photographers’ websites before landing on this one? Or is this the first website you’ve visited since the planning began?
Isn’t it quite confusing to see so many photographers offering such different types of packages? One of the main reasons is that every wedding and elopement is different. So, the approaches of every photographer are different. That said, I wanted to create a starting point for you by describing the most popular wedding package at Eugene Kim Photography. I write this blog post to help you make planning a little easier.
Photographers offer so many different types of services.
You may now realize that wedding photographers offer such a wide variety of styles and services that comparing apples to apples—in this case, photographer to photographer—is quite difficult. Finding one photographer who is perfect for what you want is almost impossible.
Every photographer offers photography services; some may offer film camera photography, black-and-white photography, hybrid coverage (that is me; please click on the link if you’re interested in how this is done), or only elopements or luxury weddings.
I have been a traditional wedding photographer for the last seven years. This means I am used to photographing in fast-paced environments with many guests. The biggest wedding I have photographed had 320 guests, and that was a pretty wild day, which makes the average-sized weddings of around 100 guests quite simple.
I have been transitioning to the adventure wedding field for the past few years. This is mainly due to realizing the joy I get from connecting more with the couple and being in nature.
Also, as someone who can simultaneously capture photos and videos, many couples take advantage of the service.
So naturally, the most popular package for Eugene Kim Photography has been:
9-hour traditional wedding in hybrid coverage with adventure wedding style pre-wedding (engagement) session.
That’s a long description. Let me break it down for you
- 9-hour traditional wedding: It’s a regular wedding, and you probably visit a few, but of course, make it your own by adding some personal touches. These weddings will have guests ranging from 30 to 150 people. Couples often choose 7 or 9 hours, depending on the number of guests. I usually recommend beginning photographing three or four hours before the ceremony starts.
- Hybrid Coverage: This is something so many couples love about my service. It’s not often you find a photographer who can photograph and film the day to produce consistent work throughout the day and highlight film without having many cameras or persons on the wedding day. Couples usually enjoy this as often couples are a little on the shy or introverted side, just like me.
- Adventure Wedding Style Pre-Wedding Session: Many couples would love to do a slightly different look photo session before their wedding. I provide 50% discounts on all engagement and pre-wedding sessions minus travel fees. Travel Fee is included in All Our Packages. This is where the couple and I go to places where we would go for adventure weddings, such as Yosemite National Park, Death Valley National Park, and the Dolomites in Italy, Iceland, or New Zealand. Some couples, in fact, even do two weddings. This pre-wedding session can be a wedding for themselves and the legal and with the friends and family for the traditional weddings. And, of course, when you book hybrid coverage for the wedding, hybrid coverage for the pre-wedding is included, too.
This package is popular because couples can have the best of both worlds: adventure and traditional weddings. In a recent The Knot and the Wedding Wire survey, many couples secretly want an adventure wedding. Many couples enjoy having a wedding for themselves, enjoying intimacy, and reading out the vow to each other. Enjoy the special time together. At the same time, many couples feel bad about leaving their loved ones out. It doesn’t have to be a 100-people wedding, but having maybe 30 people wedding only including close friends and family members, satisfies both themselves and all the loved ones around. By doing this, many couples are saving financially as they downsize the traditional weddings from what could have been over 200 people’s weddings to 50 guests’ weddings. And you already know that the biggest expenditure is reserving a large venue and catering for the guests.
Now that you know our most popular package, is there any question you would like to ask about how we can fine-tune the wedding package to your liking?
