When B told me she wanted to wear a traditional Vietnamese Ao Dai, as a Las Vegas Engagement Photographer, I knew this would be something special. B and K weren’t just looking for pretty photos — they wanted images that honored where B comes from, celebrated who they are as a couple, and served double duty as Save the Date invitations and wedding day decor. On a perfect December afternoon in Las Vegas, we brought that vision to life across two of the city’s most visually stunning locations: the Las Vegas Arts District and The Venetian.
Two Locations, One Love Story
The plan was simple but intentional: start with the urban energy of the Arts District, then transition to the timeless elegance of The Venetian. Two completely different vibes, one afternoon, one love story.
The 18b Las Vegas Arts District is one of those places that surprises people. Most visitors think of the Strip when they picture Las Vegas, but the Arts District — tucked south of downtown — is a world of colorful murals, independent galleries, and gritty urban charm. For couples who want engagement photos with character and edge, it’s one of my favorite spots to shoot.
Honoring Vietnamese Heritage with the Ao Dai
One of the most meaningful parts of this session was B’s decision to wear a traditional Vietnamese Ao Dai. B is originally from Vietnam, and incorporating this piece of her heritage into the engagement photos was important to both her and K.
The Ao Dai is a traditional Vietnamese garment — a fitted tunic worn over flowing pants — and it photographs beautifully. Against the bold street art of the Arts District, the elegance of the Ao Dai created this incredible contrast: traditional meets urban, culture meets contemporary art. It’s the kind of visual story that can’t be staged — it has to come from something real.
From Street Art to Venetian Canals
After wrapping up in the Arts District, we headed to The Venetian for the second half of the session. If the Arts District was about energy and edge, The Venetian was about romance and grandeur.
The Venetian’s architecture — arched bridges, Renaissance-inspired facades, soft ambient lighting — gave us a completely different canvas. As a Las Vegas engagement photographer, this is one of the sites I come often. Eugene Kim captures B + K’s session — from colorful Arts District murals to Venetian canals, blending Vietnamese tradition and romance.B changed into a second outfit, and the mood shifted from playful and bold to intimate and classic. The canal walkways provided gorgeous leading lines, and the warm interior lighting created a soft, golden glow that made every frame feel like a painting.
This is exactly why I love multi-location sessions. You get range. You get variety. And most importantly, you get photos that actually represent the full spectrum of who you are as a couple.
Photos with Purpose: Save the Dates and Wedding Day Decor
B and K came into this session with a clear vision: these photos needed to work for their Save the Date invitations and as decor on their wedding day in September 2026. That’s not just “take some nice photos” — that’s strategic photo planning.
We shot with both purposes in mind. Wide, dramatic compositions that work beautifully as invitation layouts. Intimate close-ups perfect for table prints and welcome sign displays. Vertical and horizontal orientations to give them maximum flexibility for designers and decorators.

- What to expect: A relaxed, walkable area with endless backdrops — murals change regularly, so every session looks different
- Pair it with: The Venetian, Fremont Street, or the Neon Museum for a two-location session with maximum variety
The Arts District gives you photos you genuinely can’t get anywhere else in Vegas. It’s authentic, artistic, and completely different from the Strip.
